“I needed an actor who was brave. Someone willing to go to dark places. Someone would really dig into the script to find those brief but important moments of humanity. If you've watched Match, you know, that Henry doesn't have a lot of dialogue. So for the auditions, I asked actors to record scenes from the elephant man and the devil's rejects. I was looking for an actor with range, an actor that could convey malice, threat, but also vulnerability. And from those auditions, I found my Henry. Jacques is incredibly talented. He's also a generous scene partner, and one of the nicest people you could ever meet. It seems that actors who make great villains are often the nicest people."
